In 1995, Chapter 203 begin the painstaking process of petitioning a Huey helicopter from the Dept of the Army. On December 27, 2000, Chapter 203 members picked up the Huey at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
On Saturday, June 30, 2001, the Huey was "Dedicated to All Who Served". There was over 1,100 people present for the dedication.
The Huey is mounted on a 12-foot pedestal in Soddy Daisy Veterans Park. It is owned and maintained by Chapter 203. Along side of the Huey is a monument listing those contributors who made the shrine possible.
Tom Borloglue, Chapter 203 Life Member, flew this Huey in '67-'68 in Vietnam. Tom retired from active service in 1995.
